Human Parechovirus Type 1/3 VP1 is a gene target that encodes for a protein found in human parechoviruses (HPeV). HPeV is a common cause of mild to severe infections in infants and young children, and can also affect adults. The VP1 protein is located on the surface of the virus and is involved in the attachment and entry of the virus into host cells. Detection of this gene target can aid in the diagnosis and management of HPeV infections.
