Specifically androgen-regulated gene protein (SARG), encoded by C1orf116, is a 601-aa protein considered putative androgen-specific receptor. SARG mRNA is highly expressed in prostate and can be up-regulated by androgens, but not by glucocorticoids. Little is known about the function of SARG to date.
