NPC1L1 Antibody (PA5-103101) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry analysis of NPC1L1 in A549 cells. The samples were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25°C. Samples were incubated with NPC1L1 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-103101) and mouse anti-beta tubulin antibody for 1 hour at 37°C. An AlexaFluor594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG(H+L) (Red) and an AlexaFluor488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG(H+L) (Green) were used as the secondary antibodies. The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue).

Target Information
Dietary consumption and intestinal cholesterol absorption contribute to plasma cholesterol levels, which factor into the risk of coronary heart disease. Niemann-Pick type C1 Like 1 protein (NPC1L1 or NPC3) is enriched in the small intestine and is found in the brush border membrane of enterocytes. It plays a critical role in absorption of intestinal cholesterol.
