Western blot analysis of OPLAH in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with OPLAH Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-116543) using a dilution of 1:3,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 1s.

OPLAH catalyzes the cleavage of 5-oxo-L-proline to form L-glutamate coupled to the hydrolysis of ATP to ADP and inorganic phosphate. ATP + 5-oxo-L-proline + 2 H2O = ADP + phosphate + L-glutamate.
