          DJ-1 Antibody (PA5-143504) in ICC/IF

Immunofluorescent analysis of DJ-1 in SH-SY5Y cells. Samples were stained with DJ-1 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-143602) using a dilution of 1:1,000 (red). Costained with mouse mAb to actin (Product # MA5-47454) dilution 1:200 in green. The blue is Hoechst staining of nuclear DNA. The DJ-1 antibody reveals strong cytoplasmic staining for DJ1 protein, while the actin antibody labels the submembranous actin-rich cytoskeleton, stress fibers and bundles of actin associated with cell adhesion sites. {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. Target Information

The product of this gene belongs to the peptidase C56 family of proteins. It acts as a positive regulator of androgen receptor-dependent transcription. It may also function as a redox-sensitive chaperone, as a sensor for oxidative stress, and it apparently protects neurons against oxidative stress and cell death. Defects in this gene are the cause of autosomal recessive early-onset Parkinson disease 7. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene.
