Western blot analysis of EGR1 in Lane 1: human 22RV1 whole cell lysate, Lane 2: human PANC-1 whole cell lysate using 50 µg (reducing conditions) per well. Electrophoresis was performed on 5-20% SDS-PAGE gel at 70V (Stacking gel) / 90V (Resolving gel) for 2-3 hours and protein was transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane at 150mA for 50-90 minutes. Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the EGR family of C2H2-type zinc-finger proteins. It is a nuclear protein and functions as a transcriptional regulator. The products of target genes it activates are required for differentitation and mitogenesis. Studies suggest this is a cancer suppresor gene.
