Western Blot using PPP1R8 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-80926) at 1:500 dilution. Lane A: HepG2 Whole Cell Lysate, Lane B: Jurkat Whole Cell Lysate, Lane C: Hela Whole Cell Lysate, Lane D: 293T Whole Cell Lysate. Lysates/proteins at 30 μg per lane. Secondary antibody: Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (DyLight™ 800) at 1:10,000 dilution. Developed using the Odyssey technique. Performed under reducing conditions. Predicted band size: 38 kDa. Observed band size: 42 kDa. (We are unsure of the identity of these extra bands).

This antibody has specificity for Human Ppp1r8.
Target Information
This gene, through alternative splicing, encodes three different isoforms. Two of the protein isoforms encoded by this gene are specific inhibitors of type 1 serine/threonine protein phosphatases and can bind but not cleave RNA. The third protein isoform lacks the phosphatase inhibitory function but is a single-strand endoribonuclease comparable to RNase E of E. coli. This isoform requires magnesium for its function and cleaves specific sites in A+U-rich regions of RNA.
