Galectin 9 Antibody (PA5-85496) in WB

Western blot was performed using Anti-Galectin 9 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-85496) and a ~36 kDa band corresponding to 36 kDa beta-galactoside-binding lectin was observed across cell lines tested. Whole cell extracts (15 µg lysate) of HUVEC (Lane 1), THP-1 (Lane 2), THP-1 treated with Rec. human TGF beta 1 (2 ng/mL for 24 hrs) (Lane 3), U-937 (Lane 4), MOLT-4 (Lane 5), PANC-1 (Lane 6), SH-SY5Y (Lane 7), Daudi (Lane 8) were electrophoresed using NuPAGE™ 4-12% Bis-Tris Protein Gel (Product # NP0321BOX). Target Information

The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. The protein encoded by this gene is an S-type lectin. It is overexpressed in Hodgkin's disease tissue and might participate in the interaction between the H and RS cells with their surrounding cells and might thus play a role in the pathogenesis of this disease and/or its associated immunodeficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
