Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (76%), Rat (76%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-82049. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The protein CTSS, a member of the peptidase C1 family, is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase that may participate in the degradation of antigenic proteins to peptides for presentation on MHC class II molecules. The protein can function as an elastase over a broad pH range in alveolar macrophages.
