          Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (97%), Rat (97%).

          This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-63631. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

          Target Information

          The SHISA7 gene encodes a member of the Shisa family proteins, which are involved in the regulation of signaling pathways critical for embryonic development and cellular communication. SHISA7 is particularly influential in modulating synaptic transmission in the central nervous system. It plays a key role in regulating the surface expression and activity of AMPA-type glutamate receptors, which are crucial for fast excitatory neurotransmission and synaptic plasticity in the brain. By controlling the trafficking and localization of these receptors, SHISA7 impacts synaptic strength and neuronal excitability, affecting learning, memory, and other cognitive functions. The functional regulation by SHISA7 of AMPA receptors can have implications for neuropsychiatric disorders, where dysregulation of synaptic transmission is a common feature. Understanding SHISA7's role in synaptic modulation could lead to insights into the mechanisms underlying cognitive processes and the development of therapeutic strategies for neurological conditions.
