Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (95%), Rat (95%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-82059. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
NDP (Norrie disease protein), also known as norrin, is a secreted signaling protein encoded by the NDP gene that activates the canonical Wnt/β-catenin pathway by binding the Frizzled-4 (FZD4)/LRP5 receptor complex. It plays an essential role in retinal vascular development, maintenance of the blood-retina barrier, and inner ear vascularization. Loss-of-function variants in NDP cause Norrie disease and can also contribute to familial exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR).
