Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (78%), Rat (78%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-55065. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
GATAD2A is a gene encoding a protein that functions as a subunit of the nucleosome remodeling and deacetylase (NuRD) complex, which plays a crucial role in chromatin remodeling and gene expression regulation. Located on the human chromosome, GATAD2A contains proline-rich PPPL theta motifs that facilitate interactions with MYND domains in proteins such as ZMYND8, distinguishing it from its paralog GATAD2B. This gene is important for various cellular processes, particularly during neural development, where it participates in modulating chromatin structure through histone deacetylation and ATP-dependent remodelings, like those mediated by NuRD. Moreover, GATAD2A has been implicated in certain neurodevelopmental disorders, suggesting its distinct functional roles in cellular contexts. Additionally, research has identified circular RNA variants of GATAD2A, which have been shown to influence viral replication, indicating its broader impact on cellular function beyond chromatin modification.
