Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (40%), Rat (40%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-84113. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
This gene was first identified in a study of human eye tissues. The protein encoded by this gene is preferentially expressed in the retina and may play a role in binding retinoids and other carotenoids as it shares homology with riboflavin binding proteins. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants and protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]
