Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (28%), Rat (28%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-82378. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
SIGLEC5 (CD170) is a member of the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin family expressed mainly on myeloid cells such as neutrophils and monocytes. It functions as an inhibitory receptor that recognizes sialylated glycans and transduces signals through immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) in its cytoplasmic tail, helping regulate innate immune responses and dampen inflammation.
