Gibco Recombinant Human FGF-Basic

FGF-basic is a critical component for maintaining embryonic stem cells in culture in an undifferentiated state. Gibco™ Recombinant Human FGF-Basic is a bioactive protein intended for use in cell culture applications. Gibco FGF-Basic comes in two forms: 1) FGF-basic (AA 1-155), full-length version, and 2) FGF-basic (AA 10-155), truncated version.

Superior bioactivity over the competition

BALB/3T3 cells (mouse fibroblast cell line, ATCC: CCL-163) at constant density were co-cultured with serial dilutions of FGF-basic in serum-free medium at 37oC, 5% CO2 for 18–24 hours. The optical density (OD) of each concentration of the testing samples, which is directly proportional to the cell number, was read at 490/650 nm at the endpoint of incubation. The cell proliferation dose curve was plotted with mean OD vs. FGF-basic concentrations (ng/mL).
