High performance anion exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection (HPAEC-PAD) is becoming more common in laboratories for sugar profile analysis due to the benefits it provides in comparison to the traditional methodologies. However, compendial methods have not kept up with current trends in this field. An updated compendial method for sugar profile analysis is needed for the areas of food and pet and animal feeds.
