Immunofluorescent analysis of SCN3B in human neuroblastoma cell line (SK-N-BE). Sample was fixed with 4% formaldehyde (15 min at RT), incubated with SCN3B monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-27618) using a dilution of 1:100 (1 hour at RT), and followed by Goat Anti-Mouse 488, Phalloidin Texas Red and DAPI secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:100, 1:1000 (60 min at RT) and 1:5000 (5 min at RT). A 1:100 dilution of MA5-27618 was sufficient for detection of NavBeta3 in 20 µg of mouse brain lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. |Detects approximately 40kDa. Does not cross-reat with NavBeta1, Navbeta2, or Navbeta4.

Target Information
Voltage-gated sodium channels are transmembrane glycoprotein complexes composed of a large alpha subunit and one or more regulatory beta subunits. They are responsible for the generation and propagation of action potentials in neurons and muscle. This gene encodes one member of the sodium channel beta subunit gene family, and influences the inactivation kinetics of the sodium channel. Two alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.
