GABRB3 Antibody (MA5-45467) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence analysis using human neuroblastoma cells. Fixation involved 4% PFA for 15 min. Samples were incubated with GABA-A Receptor Beta 3 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-45467) at 1:100 for overnight at 4°C with slow rocking, followed by AlexaFluor 488 at 1:1,000 for 1 hour at RT. 1 µg/mL of MA5-45467 was sufficient for detection of Beta 3 GABA receptor in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.|Detects approximately 55kDa. No cross-reactivity against GABA-A-R-Beta 2 or -Beta1.
Target Information
Gamma-amino butyric acid (GAMA) is a strong inhibitor of neuron transmission and is found throughout the central nervous system. GABA is formed by the decarboxylation of glutamate, resulting in the formation of one of two distinct types; GABA-A or GABA-B.The binding of GABA to GABA-A receptors results in the increase transportation of chlorine ions into the neuron. This influx results in signal transmission repression. Studies have shown that if cell to cell signaling goes unchecked due to a lack of GABA, a system overload can resulting in blackouts, rapid body contractions, seizures and epilepsy.
