GABRA2 Antibody (MA5-45725) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence analysis using human neuroblastoma cells. Fixation involved 4% Formaldehyde for 15 min at RT. Samples were incubated with GABA-A Receptor Alpha2 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-45725) at 1:100 for 60 min at RT, followed by Goat Anti-Mouse ATTO 488 at 1:100 for 60 min at RT. A 1:100 dilution of MA5-45725 was sufficient for detection of GABA-A R, Alpha2 in 20 µg of mouse brain lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. |Detects approximately 55kDa. Does not cross-react with GABA-A Receptor Alpha1.
This antibody was formerly sold as clone S399-19.
Target Information
GABA is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian brain where it acts at GABA-A receptors, which are ligand-gated chloride channels. Chloride conductance of these channels can be modulated by agents such as benzodiazepines that bind to the GABA-A receptor. At least 16 distinct subunits of GABA-A receptors have been identified. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
