The next-generation Gibco Expi293 PRO Expression System has been integrated into the GeneArt protein expression services to help provide purified protein or supernatant in less time without sacrificing quality or yield. The fast expression kinetics in this system allow for earlier harvest dates while supporting comparable to increased expression.
Cost-effective protein expression services
Protein expression services utilizing the innovative Expi293 PRO System are a cost-effective choice helping to achieve higher protein yields without scaling up. Variable expression of different sequences is a challenge faced by protein engineers. Every advantage should be taken to enable candidate sequences with lower expression profiles to be produced in enough quantity for testing and further development.
The Expi293 PRO system consistently demonstrates 2–6X higher titers than the Expi293 system using the GeneArt protein expression platform as shown for the example antibodies below. Additionally, proteins with low- to mid-level expression profiles show the greatest improvement as indicated by the gray bars.

Considerations for choosing antibody chain ratios
When setting up an antibody project for GeneArt protein expression services, a light chain:heavy chain ratio should be specified. It is important to understand that the optimal chain ratios can vary by sequence and by the expression system.
Below are examples of different monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, and an Fc fusion protein expressed in the Expi293 PRO system. Most often an LC:HC ratio of 2:1 results in the highest expression. However, in some cases other ratios provide higher titers. For optimal results, we recommend testing different chain ratios using our HTP Antibody Expression Service before expressing at larger scales.
