New fully automated system for nucleic acid and protein purification

Description: Introducing a new way to automate sample preparation. This system combines two established technologies, magnetic bead transfer and liquid handling, providing reproducible results while virtually eliminating hands-on time for sample purification. See how the new Thermo Scientific™ KingFisher™ Presto Sample Purification System can be integrated with the Hamilton Microlab® NIMBUS® automated liquid handler to extract pure nucleic acid from sample types such as FFPE tissue, blood, buccal swabs, and plasma. This modular system allows each component to work efficiently, so you get the benefits of magnetic-bead based purification, such as reduced cross contamination and consistent NA recovery, in addition to the convenience of an automated liquid handler. Since larger sample volume inputs are becoming commonplace in order to recover circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA), this specific application will be discussed in detail. Processing larger volumes in an automated fashion is challenging for many labs but the KingFisher Presto/NIMBUS system provides an efficient way to recover and concentrate cfDNA from up to 5mLs of plasma.

Making Immunoassay Development, Validations and Sample Analysis Fast, Easy and Cost-Effective

Description: Learn how to use Lumigen’s SPARCL (Spatial Proximity Analyte Reagent Capture Luminescence) immunoassay chemistry and the Thermo Scientific™ Varioskan™ LUX multimode microplate reader to quickly develop a variety of immunoassays including sandwich, competitive, immunogenicity, pharmacokinetic and biomarker assays from any species in any matrix.  SPARCL applied to monoclonal antibody development screening rapidly identifies cells secreting immunogen-specific antibody and dramatically improves workflow in phage display programs for therapeutic antibodies.
