The advanced cooling system complies with the F-Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573 and US EPA regulations, which aim to reduce the emission of fluorinated greenhouse gases to mitigate their impact on climate change. Fluorinated gases, including hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), have a high global warming potential (GWP). These regulations seek to limit the use, production, and release of these gases.

Thermo Scientific GreenCool Technology for general purpose centrifuges operates with HC (R290) with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3, an immense reduction compared to previous cooling systems with a GWP of 1,430.
For floor model centrifuges, GreenCool technology utilizes carbon dioxide (CO2), a natural gas with a Global Warming Potential of 1, lower than other refrigerants.
Both R290 and CO₂ are more sustainable refrigerants that do not deplete the ozone layer.
Beyond the F-Gas compliant technology, the centrifuges offer reduced energy consumption and excellent temperature stability, helping ensure the integrity of samples as well as precise and efficient results. X and S Series General Purpose Centrifuges

X and S Series General Purpose Centrifuges are designed to help provide exceptional performance, versatility and enhanced sustainability.
With fixed-angle rotor RCF (Relative Centrifugal Force) of over 25,000 x g, and swinging bucket rotor RCF of over 7,000 x g, even the toughest separations can be completed. Scientists working across biopharmaceutical, academic research and clinical diagnostic applications can choose between 4 L (4 x 1,000 ml) ventilated benchtop or refrigerated floor and bench models. Choose from up to 18 optional rotors (X series) and up to 13 rotors (S series) to accommodate various labware, including several lightweight and corrosion-resistant Fiberlite Carbon Fiber Rotors. Additional features include Auto-Lock Rotor Exchange, ClickSeal Biocontainment Lids and optional connectivity (X series).
