KingFisher instruments isolate DNA, RNA, proteins, cells, exosomes, and peptides for up to 96 samples, typically in 25–60 minutes. Easy-to-follow protocols with MagMAX and Dynabead optimized kits help remove manual steps and reduce overall processing time and errors.

Applied Biosystems MagMAX kits

MagMAX kits extract DNA and RNA from a variety of biological samples. They are designed to be paired with liquid handlers and automated purification systems, or they can be used manually. These kits help ensure reproducibility of high-quality nucleic acid.

Invitrogen Dynabeads kits

Dynabeads products and kits are available for many applications, including assays that require flexibility. Some kits are precoupled with a biomolecule (ligand) with an affinity for the desired target—antibody, protein or antigen, DNA/RNA probe, or other molecule.

Why choose a magnetic bead-based sample prep solution?

No centrifugation or columns are required. Magnetic bead-based separation protocol is scalable and can be easily adapted for automation on KingFisher purification systems and liquid handling systems. It works with these three easy steps: bind, wash, elute.

Bind

Dynabeads magnetic beads bind to the desired target (e.g., cells, microorganisms, nucleic acids, peptides, proteins, complexes, etc.). In the example shown, an antibody is attached to the surface of the magnetic bead.

Wash

The beads respond to a magnetic field, allowing bound materials to be rapidly and efficiently collected on the magnet and separated from the rest of the sample. Unbound material remains in the supernatant and is removed by aspiration.

Elute

The bead-bound target is released from the surface of the beads in a suitable volume for use in downstream applications. Alternatively, the bead-bound target can be used directly while still attached to the beads.
