Uncap your sample handling potential

Minimize risk and increase accuracy

Sensors automatically scan barcoded sample tubes for tracking within the software.

Address common bottleneck concerns

Remove tedious manual steps by automating uncapping, recapping to increase throughput  and sample processing.

Improve safety with built-in features

Minimizes exposure to biohazardous samples with a closed-door system.

Increase consistency with precision pipetting

Precision pipetting enables the ability to maintain consistent results across runs and different users.

Features

Evolve your sample handling with automation benefits

Minimize risk with safety with built-in features

  • Closed-door system—exposure to biohazardous samples is minimized with a closed-door system. The tempered glass door lifts for setup procedures and then is closed for the duration of the run.
  • Ultraviolet (UV) light—decontamination is performed with ultraviolet lights built-in to the instrument deck that minimize user exposure to potential contamination or infection hazards.
  • High-efficiency particle air (HEPA) filtration—inlet and exhaust HEPA filtration systems remove airborne particles >0.3 μm in size and filters microorganisms.
  • Waste removal—used pipette tips are automatically removed and dispensed into the biohazardous waste receptacle below the instrument deck. A pause option allows for waste removal during a run.

Increase consistency and accuracy with sample tracking and precision pipettes

  • Sensors automatically scan barcoded sample tubes for tracking within the software.
  • KingFisher SpeciTRAX software visually displays the sample-to-well plate designation for easy review by the user, which reduces errors and increases consistency.
  • Precision pipetting within the system enables the ability to maintain consistent results across runs and different users, which is crucial for sensitive downstream applications.
  • Dual pipettors accurately aliquot 10–1,000 μL and dispense into wells while fluid sensing tips allow for sample types of varying viscosity.

Adoption is easy with surefire design and intuitive software

  • Intuitive software helps ensure protocol setup is fast, as steps are presented in a simple visual format.
  • An illustrative menu within the software eliminates the need for extensive training, reduces potential for error and helps your staff ramp-up quickly.
  • Surefire design features such as sample racks that snap into place on the instrument deck help prevent misalignment. Consumable pipette tip boxes and deep-well plates have interlocking tabs that contribute to overall process consistency.

Customize workflows

An open software platform allows for easy-to-make changes in the user interface (UI) or an Excel file for customized applications or workflow modifications. Parameter variations for tubes, plates, aspiration, and dispensing volumes for specific protocols are easily accommodated. Liquid handling parameters and transfer volumes are simply configured or preset for a specific protocol. Plate layout and sample transfer paths can also be predefined; this option is convenient for situations when specific wells need to be blank for manual transfers such as controls.
