Touchscreen control

A modern touchscreen display and an intuitive interface puts you in control of instrument operation. Follow the guided visuals for easy plate loading, protocol changes, and instrument setup.

 

It’s easy to edit or write protocols directly on the instrument, and you can customize protocols at every step—bind, wash, elute. You also have the option to manage protocols on your PC with BindIx software. Instrument-defined limits help reduce potential errors in any protocol modifications.

Dual magnets, multiple formats

When you install two magnets and heating blocks, KingFisher Apex intelligently selects the correct magnetic head based on your protocol. Work from large to small volume ranges by choosing from 24-well, 96-well, or PCR formats with corresponding magnetic heads and plates.

Protocols and software

Thermo Scientific BindIx software is included with KingFisher Apex instruments. The software makes it easy to create, download, run, modify, and store protocols directly on the instrument or on your PC.

 

Protocols are available for nucleic acid and protein purification procedures with reagent kits. The software allows you to define and edit steps, parameters, plates, and reagents for every part of your protocol—bind, wash, and elute. You can even generate status reports including a run log, plate layout, and step parameters.
