Whiskey-230x195

Whiskey should ONLY be whiskey

People trust their whiskey to be exactly as they expect. Unadulterated, safe, consistent. Our customers know how long it takes to build a brand’s reputation and how quickly one can disappear. So they come to us and our widest instrumentation portfolio — ion, liquid and gas chromatography, metal analysis, mass spectrometry, discrete analyzers and data management for accurate, reliable answers for their spirits testing needs.

Non-targeted analysis of whisky using SPME Arrow and Orbitrap Exploris GC 240 mass spectrometer

This study demonstrates the use of Orbitrap high-resolution accurate mass spectrometry and the HS-SPME method. The chemical composition of whiskies was characterized to detect differences between distilleries and identify markers of counterfeit products, ensuring product integrity.

The Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris and Excedion series mass spectrometers are Orbitrap instruments with an atmospheric pressure ionization (API) source for liquid chromatography (LC) mass spectrometry (MS) high-throughput applications. The instruments are designed to be placed on a bench in the laboratory and maintain mass accuracy across chromatographic peaks, supporting confident identification and quantitation using high-resolution accurate-mass detection.
