Evaluate neural stem cells for neurodegenerative disease models—Neural stem cell–specific protein expression and mitochondrial assessment

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects 1% of people over age 60 and more than 5 million people worldwide. PD results from the selective loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra region of the brain. The loss of these neurons initially affects movement. As the disease progresses, however, cognitive function is impaired, and late-stage disease is often accompanied by dementia.

WebinarBreathing new life into hypoxia research
Although the significance of hypoxia in biological processes is well known, creating model systems with accurate control of hypoxic conditions is extremely difficult without access to elaborate systems that allow precise control and maintenance of temperature, humidity, and gases (CO2 and O2) during an experiment. In this webinar, we will discuss: Overview of hypoxia in human diseases Classical methods for setting up hypoxic conditions Novel instruments and reagents for imaging cells in hypoxic conditions
EVOS, fluorescence microscopy/fluorescence imaging, high content analysis, hypoxia, onstage incubator
