Organism TypeHumanA small part of the thoracic aorta was dissected from human donor and recipient hearts during heart transplantation. The adventitial layer was dissected from the aorta and cells were isolated with the use of collagenase. The cells that attached were cultured in DMEM, supplemented with L-glutamine, 100 U/mL penicillin, 100 ug/mL streptomycin, and 10% fetal bovine serum.
